Jakarta Model United Nations (JakartaMUN) 2014 is back to town!

JakartaMUN is the first-ever MUN held in capital city of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, by Indonesian Students Association for International Studies (ISAFIS). After the previous successful programs, the fourth JakartaMUN upholds the theme of “Moving Towards Global Development in 2015”. JakartaMUN will take place on the 23rd-26th of June 2014. In line with the progress toward the agenda of MDGs which is due in 2015, JakartaMUN is held to facilitate young people to gather their ideas and evince their efforts in achieving global development through diplomacy. By joining JakartaMUN, you will not only have the chance to learn more about diplomacy and international issues, but also get to know Jakarta better.

So, what’s new in JakartaMUN 2014?

In terms of substantive matter, JakartaMUN 2014 makes a huge modification. Usually, the conference will be adjourned once the resolutions have been produced. However, in the last session, JakartaMUN 2014 will have a [plenary] General Assembly. In this General Assembly, all the delegates from six other councils are going to meet in one room to discuss the integration of the proposal which has been made in each council. JakartaMUN hopes that delegate finally can formulate one concise resolution to project the feasibility of achieving global development (MDGs) in 2015 and beyond. We plan to make the General Assembly at the end of all sessions so that the delegates could cooperate to create brilliant solutions.

In terms of registration, JakartaMUN 2014 offers new scheme of registrations which are delegations registration and individual (single delegate) registration. If you apply as “delegation”, it means that your school/campus will be assigned as ONE country in different councils and there will be additional “Delegation FeeRp 300.000,00 (for national delegates) per team and US$ 40 (for international delegates) per team. The minimum number of people in each delegation is 5 (five) and the maximum number is 12 (twelve).
